Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect in therapy?

Therapy is a collaborative space. We'll explore what’s going on beneath the surface, identify patterns, and work toward clarity and change at a pace that feels right for you. It’s not one-size-fits-all. Your goals guide the process.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

I offer in-person sessions to clients located in the Tampa Bay, Florida area, depending on availability. If you're outside of that area or prefer the flexibility of meeting from home, I also offer secure telehealth sessions for clients in both Florida and Colorado.

Is teletherapy really effective?

Yes. Research consistently shows that teletherapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for many concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and stress-related issues.

  • A 2022 meta-analysis in JMIR Mental Health found no significant difference in outcomes between teletherapy and in-person care.
  • The American Psychological Association confirms clients often report high satisfaction and therapeutic progress with telehealth.
  • Teletherapy also makes it easier to stick with treatment thanks to its flexibility and accessibility.

What if I’m not sure where to start?

That’s totally okay. Many clients come in feeling overwhelmed or unsure. Part of our work together is to help you find clarity and direction.

Do you accept insurance?

I don't bill insurance directly. This helps protect your privacy and allows us to focus on your needs, not insurance checkboxes. If you have out-of-network benefits, I’m happy to provide a superbill for you to submit for possible reimbursement.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

Yes, I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots based on financial need. Feel free to ask about availability when you reach out.

How do I know if you’re the right therapist for me?

The best way to find out is by scheduling a free 15-minute consultation. We’ll talk briefly about what you’re looking for and see if it feels like a good fit. No pressure, no commitment...just a conversation.

How often will we meet?

Most clients start with weekly sessions, especially at the beginning. As you make progress, we may shift to every other week or monthly check-ins based on your goals and needs.

What ages do you work with?

I work with teens and adults. If you're looking for therapy for a younger child, I'm happy to offer referrals to trusted providers.

What issues do you not treat?

I don't work with active substance use disorders, eating disorders requiring medical oversight, or court-ordered treatment. If you're looking for support in these areas, I can help connect you with appropriate resources.

What happens after I reach out?

You’ll get a response from me within 1–2 business days. If we move forward, I’ll send you a link to my secure client portal where you can complete intake forms and schedule your first session.

Is everything we talk about confidential?

Yes. Therapy is a confidential space. There are a few exceptions related to safety and legal obligations (like risk of harm), and we’ll go over all of that clearly in your first session.
